I love the color willows turn in Spring just before the leaves appear and again in the Fall when their leaves change color. One overcast, snowy day in May 2011, during a trip home from Yellowstone, I drove past this field of willows and I knew I had to capture it in a painting.
The pronghorn werenít around that day and I donít recall ever seeing them around willows. This field was adjacent to a huge pasture of grass and sagebrush which is a more common place to see them, so I decided it could happen and their colors would look great against the flora.
