My wife and I recently moved to the mountain located south of our home town; we are so thankful for our good fortune. I’m able to watch first hand, a large variety of wildlife right from my studio window. We have quite a diverse group of birds living around us and my favorite is the Black Capped Chickadee. I like their small chubby bodies, their markings, and even though they are somewhat timid around other birds, they are more sociable with us and are willing to eat out of our hands. You can often times see the wildlife eating together but the moments are always fleeting. The balancing of nature can often appear cruel so it’s such a treat to see these short moments of harmonious coexistence. I wanted to capture those events so I painted Feathers & Fur.
