Told Ya! Same Place Every Year
My painting, Told Ya! Same Place Every Year, is the third installment in what appears to be a growing series of holiday paintings; as it was with the first two—my wife told me to do it.She doesn’t come up with the ideas for the composition, I do that.She’s actually in charge of marketing—I just enjoy telling people she bosses me around.
The time honored tradition of leaving cookies and milk for old Saint Nick caught my interest this time.Just looking at Mr. Claus you can tell he likes food; but after traveling around the world you can have a little too much of a good thing.I chose to depict three Golden Mantel Squirrels, who know right where to go, enjoyingthe cookies and milk.Are they little pests or actually doing a favor for Santa?I hope they’re not lactose intolerant.
