Rivals

from $61.00

Rivals started with my desire to paint the beautiful fall colors that can be seen along the Firehole River.  In an effort to tell a story with composition, I added Yellowstone's top predators - wolves and a grizzly.

I've yet to hear a story of them praying on each other but I've heard and read about grizzlies often stealing a hard earned meal from a wolf pack.

Both species are doing well in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem.  So much so, the wolf has been removed from the threatened & endangered species list:  Controlling their numbers outside the park boundaries is being administered by each state's Game and fish Department.  There's also ongoing discussions about "delisting" the grizzly.
